El Puerco de Oro

These tacos are unique and so delicious! It's a smaller spot, with a few tables inside and set up like an indoor stand. They serve one type of meat, pork! And it's incredibly delicious, they offer about three tacos on the menu, a couple of quesadillas, and a torta. The tacos are where it’s at for us, the two pork options are their pork belly which had been braised then the fat crisped and fried, chopped up and topped with fresh onion and cilantro (this is our favorite taco in all of PV), and the salsa verde braised chicharron (so juicy and delicious, not spicy, but very tender). Back to the pork belly taco (taco de pancit), it’s juicy and crispy, and crunchy all at the same time. Magical little pork tacos, I'd say 3 per person would be about right (28 pesos per taco!) With each order the ladies (all ladies, always rocking it!) call out how many tortillas they’ll need for the next order, and just like that, your blue corn tortillas are being pressed and cooked to order. Pure joy!

The little salsa bar is fantastic and well stocked with all sorts of salsas (green, habanero, charred chilis, avocado), pickles and fresh goodies. Service is fast, clean, and very very kind; the ladies know our orders at this point, and they usually get us to get one or two extra at the end.
The tacos are absolutely fantastic, as is the fun and relaxed vibe and atmosphere, we love love love them, perfectly seasoned and so so good! If you are anywhere near this place, come and try, we hear they are moving to a bigger location soon! Don’t forget to leave a nice tip!
