La Fina
La Fina is a charming little restaurant in a less often visited neighborhood of the Romantica zone of Puerto Vallarta. It's in an older neighborhood, and is a house and covered patio that has been beautifully converted into a restaurant with seating in the front patio area.
Between the strung up lights, the festive painting and details to local artwork, this spot makes for a gorgeous little date night venue.
We showed up right at opening and were quickly surrounded by a pretty full restaurant in a matter of minutes! Our sever was wonderful, and very informative on both the drinks and food menu. We ordered two drinks, one mule type, and the other a spicy citrus, both were delicious, and well made!
We ordered the plantain tamale stuffed with braised pork and it was absolutely incredible, it looked big but the outside was crisp light and sweet, the inside pork savory and juicy, surrounded by a pool of zesty salsa verde, it was gone very quickly between the two of us. I would return for that dish alone it was so excellent! We also got the octopus main dish that was new on the menu, the octopus was perfectly cooked crispy on the edges, tender and plentiful, and the fondant potatoes delicious as well. We wanted to order more, but the portions there are large, we were pretty full. We did get the chocolate peanut brownie, and it was tasty but overall was very sweet!
This is a terrific restaurant that is sure to be full most nights, great food, drinks and service, everyone was enjoying their time there, and it was a really fun experience, can't wait to come back and try more!
Restaurant opens at 7, definitely use their WhatsApp to make reservations, especially in high season.
