Opa Greek Bistro

Opa is a very charming venue, with tables both inside (ac available inside) and out, it is a smaller restaurant but well done; and really gives you a nostalgic feeling of a trip to Greece. The tables are painted bright cobalt blue and the restaurant the classic blue and white, there are murals painted outside that mimic the restaurant and brings a piece of Greece right to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Super adorable!

Opa’s menu, has all of your old time favorites; lamb and beef gyros, grilled kebabs, falafels, hummus, moussaka, salads, lemon yogurt soup, grilled fish dishes and more. They have a nice beer and wine menu to offer including local craft beers, their non alcoholic drinks are little limited (no juices or anything like that) but of course have sparkling and still water available.

Service is kind and attentive, usually one server, so if it’s busy you may have to be a little bit patient, but food does come out fairly quickly!
The food is very clean, high quality and overall very delicious! We have been several times and always loved our food, some of the dishes we have tried have been the lamb kebab plate (juicy large medallions of high quality tender lamb prepared to the temp of your liking with marinated and grilled veggies, our favorite here!), the falafel plate (very flavorful, classic greek style, the mix is a little denser than Israeli style, but very good and served with hummus) the beef and lamb gyro (soooo good! Soft and fluffy pita filled with tender strips of zesty beef and lamb, tzatziki, fresh lettuce, tomato and red onion- delicious!), free form spanikopita (definitely different from the typical style, this one is layered with the ingredients instead of baked with them, and served more like a pastry), the royal lemon seared mahi mahi served with creamy mashed potatoes (fish is perfectly done and very saucy!), and last but not least the baklava (really tasty walnut version, not too sweet and perfect to end the meal). There are always a few tables dining here throughout the night, even during slow season, unless you have more than 4 people you should be okay walking in to grab dinner. This is a great place for take out, and they do a lot of it!
