Raices Resto Bar

We love this restaurant! Its menu is straightforward, ingredient driven, simple and there's something for everyone. The ambiance matched the menu vibe with clean and simple and upscale decor, the inside is really beautiful and the outside patio has a little more of a fun vibe with an awesome view of the amazing open kitchen and pretty little lights strung up all around. The majority of the food gets a little, or a lot, of attention in the wood fired oven, and it's fun to watch and even better to eat and enjoy. We've been back a few times now, and service has been attentive, knowledgeable, kind and very helpful!
We've tried the bread service that comes with a small assortment of fresh baked breads (good but the foie is chicken liver not duck liver just a heads up), the pumpkin raviolis (my absolute favorite, perfect texture, decadent, lightly sweet and savory, and pure heaven in your mouth), the spinach croquettes (they use beautiful wild spinach so it has a special flavor, comes with 3 but can order 4 if there's more in your party, light and crispy, perfectly salty, and just the perfect amount of spice with habanero aioli), ceaser salad (charred and yummy), the shrimp (our favorite protein to get there, juicy, lemony and a super generous portion, cooked in the wood fired over), mahi mahi fish of the day (everyone loved this fresh dish!), the brisket sandwich (tasty), pommes noisette (pretty good, if this came with a sauce it would be great), the grilled peaches with homemade ice cream (simple delicious perfection, get this for dessert it is excellent, the salted caramel ice cream is fantastic!).
I want to go back just to get a full plate of the pumpkin ravioli and plate of shrimp just for myself! The drinks are fresh but not very strong, great wine selection. And service is wonderful throughout, changing out share plates, refilling waters and sweet throughout the dining experience.
Fantastic venue to enjoy on a date night or a night out with friends who enjoy delicious food. If you’re looking for a more upscale night, Raices is the perfect venue, they also have plenty of space for larger parties and the ambiance is always wonderful. Perfect spot to have a beautiful dinner and walk around Old Town, Puerto Vallarta. Can't wait to return!
